Web Developer

Minneapolis, MN

The Web Developer is responsible for designing, coding and modifying digital content for the Company’s multiple public-facing and internal websites. This individual will collaborate with the Web Team as well as internal stakeholders to build an engaging digital experience for our customers. This position will take an active role in user experience and design, as well as technical implementation. Also responsible for creating, posting and maintaining content for existing websites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consistently create well-designed, tested code using best practices for website development, including mobile and responsive site design
  • Create UI/UX prototypes and wireframes
  • Meet regularly with business stakeholders and Web Team to understand and refine business and functional requirements and determine project scopes and specifications
  • Ensure code stability via testing to identify bugs and ensure sites run successfully
  • Use version control and best industry practices to move code from development to production
  • Work quickly and carefully to complete small edits requested by customers, develop plans for completing larger projects, collaborate with colleagues, and suggest new solutions to improve existing websites
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with content owners and subject matter experts
  • Manage content change process including receipt, review and solicitation of approvals prior to deployment
  • Maintain operational procedures, system standards and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Provide feedback to content owners and communicate content updates
  • Execute SQL reports as requested for content owners
  • Document and capture the technical specifications/architecture of the web platform
  • Lead or assist in the movement of content from legacy systems to the current web platform, using migration tools such as Kapow, Uipath, or similar technologies
  • Leverage web services and API’s to move data between systems for display from a single source of truth
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • At a minimum, the ability to work from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour Company events

Job Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Competent with web applications, programming languages, and web services, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .NET, C#, APIs, security principles, cross-browser compatibility, and responsiveness
  • Skilled in use of text editor such as Atom or Sublime Text
  • Experience using Umbraco or other similar Content Management Tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience with User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design
  • Experience with full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understands search engine optimization concepts and ability to optimize content for search
  • Ability to accept supervision
  • Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with managing and prioritizing multiple deliverables with competing and/or tight deadlines
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques
  • Ability to adapt quickly to rapidly changing business needs
  • Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company
