Bruce T. Gardner has joined Old Republic National Commercial Title Services (NCTS) as Senior Vice President of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company (ORNTIC), Senior National Energy Specialist and Senior Counsel.
He is based in our office on Fifth Avenue in New York City and reports to Richard Icklan, Senior Vice President, ORNTIC and Director of NCTS in New York.
In his role, Bruce is instrumental in developing, advising, structuring, negotiating and closing all varieties of commercial real estate transactions, particularly in the energy sector.
As a successful real estate attorney for over 40 years, Bruce has substantial transactional legal expertise and has represented institutional clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including the development, financing, acquisition and disposition of energy assets (including traditional, renewable, transmission line and pipeline projects). He has extensive knowledge of the title insurance aspects of those types of transactions and was instrumental in helping to create many of the title endorsements used today in energy transactions.
Prior to joining Old Republic Title, Bruce was Of Counsel for a premier international law firm for more than 38 years, based in its New York City headquarters. He retired from the firm in June 2018, where he had worked since 1980. He had previously worked in title insurance. Bruce earned his bachelor’s degree in business from American University in Washington, D.C. and his juris doctor degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1978.
