Old Republic Title is pleased to announce that Paul P. Reisman, Esq., Vice President, ORNTIC, and New York State Counsel, has been appointed First Vice President, ORNTIC, and promoted to Chief New York State Agency Counsel at Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. In his new position, Paul oversees our Company’s New York Underwriting and Legal Departments, and supports our independent agents throughout the state.
Paul joined our Company as New York State Counsel in 2011. He has 38 years of experience in the title insurance industry, which began when he became a title examiner in White Plains, NY, in 1983. After serving as an independent examiner, reader and closer for various title companies and agents over the next few years, he joined a law firm in White Plains as a bank closing attorney. He later joined a law firm in Mamaroneck, NY, where he represented clients in mortgage foreclosure actions and headed the real estate closing department representing various institutional lenders, sellers and purchasers.
From 1995 to 2000, Paul managed his own law firm in Mamaroneck, specializing in real estate transactions, landlord-tenant matters and estate proceedings. He was regularly appointed by the Supreme Court of Westchester County, NY, to serve as referee in foreclosure actions.
Paul is an industry veteran, having handled major real estate title and commercial closings, as well as multi-site national transactions during his 12 years as Senior Counsel with another national title underwriter.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in English and Italian, from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY, and his juris doctor degree from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, NY. He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in December 1988 and the New York Bar in January 1989. He was admitted to the United States District Court, Southern District of New York in October 1990.
