Old Republic Title is proud to announce that our very own Daniel M. Wold, EVP of ORNTIC; Industry Relations & Strategic Initiatives; and Corporate Secretary, has been elected President of the American Land Title Association (ALTA) for the 2021-2022 year. ALTA is the national trade association and voice of title insurance companies, title and settlement agents, independent abstracters, title searchers and real estate attorneys.
Dan was announced as ALTA President during the ALTA ONE 2021 Annual Convention in New Orleans on October 15. He joins a list of current or former members of the ORT family, who have previously served in the position, including: Rande Yeager, Mark Bilbrey, Anne Anastasi, Charles Kovaleski, Rob Chapman, Richard Cecchettini and C.J. McConville.
For many years, Dan has been active with the ALTA, serving as chair of its RESPA Reform Task Force (TRID Task Force), Board of Governors and Homeowner Outreach Program Committee. He also has been a member of the ALTA Title Insurance Underwriter’s Section Executive Committee since 2013.
“I believe Dan has been selected to lead the ALTA at a pivotal time,” notes Carolyn Monroe, President, Old Republic National Title Holding Company. “There certainly will be many industry challenges in the year ahead – from ongoing regulatory changes to evolving technology, privacy, security and fraud issues, as well as the impacts of the pandemic – but I have every confidence in his leadership abilities and vision for ALTA. As ALTA President, it is our hope that Dan will have even greater opportunities to successfully collaborate with stakeholders and elected officials on real estate, housing and other related policies that are important for our industry.”
Old Republic Title is grateful for Dan’s continued industry advocacy work and insight as a member of the Company’s Title’s Executive Leadership Team. His career at Old Republic Title dates back to 1993, when he joined our Corporate Legal Department as Associate Counsel. He advanced into several leadership positions, including Senior Corporate Counsel, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Dan also has been a contributor on many of our Company’s working groups and its Agency Committee.
Specializing in real estate and bankruptcy law, Dan has built a successful 30-plus year career as a lawyer. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and its Bankruptcy Section, and a former co-editor of its Bankruptcy Bulletin publication.
